I'm Mat. Yeah, that guy with one T...
I design and develop websites, heavy on the develop. It's something I've been doing for a little while, developing my very first site as a wee little middle school kid back in '97. Although I've left behind GeoCities as well as my frames, counters, dreadful color combinations and guestbooks, I continue to use and love tacky styles and animated gifs; I refuse to ever let them go. Some years later I'm still at it, but just a tad bit better, designing and developing on the web over at PlattForm Advertising as their Senior Web Developer (yeah, they've got two T's, somewhat fitting is it not?). When I'm not at PlattForm developing or not hanging out with friends and family, I'm probably at home jammin' out to some funktastic glitchy dub while doing some more developing, trying to figure things out, building with new technology and breaking things with that same new tech. I love learning. I love playing. I hate being serious. I won’t stress it.
Kansas City rocks. You either agree or you've never been here. I love the barbeque, I love the beer, I love the sports and I love the people. I graduated just west of here, out in Lawrence, from the University of Kansas. I graduated in '08, just after I married my beautiful wife Lauren (who enjoys blogging btw) and just after KU won both the Orange Bowl Championship and Men's Basketball National Championship; what a great freakin' year. I'm a Jayhawk. I bleed crimson. Sweat blue. I don't cry.
But back to the beer. I drink it. Man, is a good beer, well, good. My favs are generally IPAs and both KC and Lawrence have some top notch breweries in Boulevard and Free Sate. I'm prepping to start up my very first batch of brew too. I'll let you know how it turns out and maybe even let you sip on my suds.
I love meeting new people, collaborating on interesting projects and making the web a kick ass place. Hook up with me on Google+ or Facebook if you'd like, although I primarily hangout on Twitter. Even better yet, let's join squads and kick in some faces over on Xbox Live (PegLegg). If you're not really into that, maybe we could share a pint over at Untappd.
Oh and if you haven't noticed, I like space stuff. And pirates, too. Our universe is wonderfully mysterious.
