Coming in at #6, is Nodewords. Nodewords is one of the best Drupal modules around because it is aimed at helping you apply important meta data to each page of your Drupal site. This module adds several fields to every piece of content you enable it for, including keywords, descriptions, canonical URL, abstract, copyright, and a list of options for robot specific commands. You enter the information as you create your piece of content, and it takes care of the rest!
Nodewords also lets you set meta data for specific URLs. Very simply enter the URL path that you want the meta data to show up on, enter the meta data you want to print out, and save. Instantly that specific page’s meta data is set. There are additional settings for setting up specific meta data for 404 pages, 403 pages, and your homepage as well.
Also, Nodewords can dynamically create meta data for your pages if setup properly through the Nodewords settings page. You can select to have your meta tags created based off of the content of your page, the teaser information for your page, or you can even create a custom regular expression that will automatically create your meta tags as you post your content.
Another small, yet helpful feature is that the Nodewords module lets you enter in site validation information for Google, Bing and Yahoo’s webmaster tools. Enter in the site ID that is generated from your webmaster accounts into the appropriate field and Nodewords will add it straight to your home page for you. It’s not a HUGE deal, but it is very convenient when setting up new sites and allows you to not worry about setting this information within your template files.
